More over, children are badly affected here in Sri Lanka who are in need of support from the International community.

During the Sinhala and Tamil New Year period egg and poultry products prices had gone up. There was a big shortage for vegetables, Banana Fruits and for the Bombay onion. And nearly all the small food shops and Bakery shops are closed. In addition who were staying for to attend work had problem in finding meals for them.

Sri Lanka rupees is becoming strong against US Dollar and Sri Lanka Bank’s had decreased the interest rates for Depositors and Lenders. In April 2024,  interest rates had gone down too and the fixed deposits in the banks will earn annually 8.2 % per annual.

Meanwhile in the month of April 2024, expressway toll posts had earned millions of Rupees. On the other hand Colombo ZOO and the Pinnawala elephant orphanage too had earned millions of rupees in this month of April.
