Indian cricket players did a splendid job by winning all the three test matches in the Sri Lanka soil where the last two test matches were won by the Indians by innings win and the last test was finished within 3 days only. So the Indian Cricket team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli made first whitewash in a foreign soil, and this is the second whitewash lose for the Sri Lankans as they were beaten years back by the visiting Australian cricket team.
The Indian cricket team made 400+ in all three matches.
The match bought the new Indian star to the cricket horizon as the number eight slot played by Hardik Pandya who smashed Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara in the 116th over, taking 26 runs off him with 3 sixes and 2 fours. This is the most runs scored by an Indian batsman in an over in Test cricket. This beats the previous joint-record of 24 runs held by Sandip Patil and Kapil Dev. Hardik Pandya also made the second fastest Test hundred in overseas by an Indian batsman, second to Virender Sehwag s 78-ball hit in 2006. Pandya goes in to record for his 7sixers in an innings. 23-year-old Pandya played a significant innings and registered his maiden Test hundred at Pallekele in his only second Test. He was later caught at 108 off 96, as his innings included seven sixers and eight boundaries too.

Sri Lanka cricket team is once again doing their bad performance as they started to go on with their second innings today. They finished very badly in Pallekele (Kandy) test which is 3rd and the last of this 2017 series. Earlier India made 487 runs in their first innings. Then Sri Lanka came out and made just 135 and the Indian team asked them to bat again their second innings and on the close of the day Sri Lanka were 19 for one wicket and are trailing behind 333 runs to avoid inning defeat.
Touring Kohli’s Indian cricket team had won the last two tests against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka’s own grounds. First match was lost by massive run difference while the second test too was won by the touring Indian cricket team by an innings. Sri Lanka seems to be lacking on all sectors including batting and balling too.
On the coming Saturday the third test match will be played by both these countries in Pallekela, India.
3rd Test: August 12 (Saturday) to 16 (Wednesday) in Pallekele.
If India happens to win this third test against the local lads then it will become as a whitewash for the Lankans in their own soil. Already they are plundered by the Indians first ever Innings win over Sri Lanka on its own soil.
Let’s wait and see the match and the out come.
