Falling Trees kill 20 High School Students In Ghana.
High School Students from Wenchi Senior High School went on a tour to Kintampo Waterfalls, which was referred to as Sanders Falls during the colonial days. Kintampo Waterfalls is the highest water falls in Ghana which is located on the Pum pum river north of Kintampo municipality in the Brong-Ahafo region..

As per the available reports students met the tragic accident when trees, uprooted due to a storm, fell on them while they were swimming in a river near to the waterfall. 20 are dead and 22 others were injured in the incident, including one of the school administrators who was in charge of the trip. Workers from the police, fire service and local traditional leaders, were involved in the rescue operation to save the trapped by cutting the trees and branches with chainsaws.

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo’s Tweet the following.
“I have learnt with great sadness [of] the unfortunate incident that occurred at Kintampo Waterfalls yesterday. My deepest condolences to the families of all those affected by this unfortunate and tragic incident,”

Tourism minister of Ghana Catherine Abelema Afeku has sent out condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the injured,
