WhatsApp support for old mobile devices that were fabricated around 2010 with older versions of operating systems. As per the WhatsApp Blog support for the following devices will be stopped by the end of 2016.

BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
Nokia Symbian S60
Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
Windows Phone 7
iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
But a recent report WhatsApp said that they will extend their support for BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60 until June 30, 2017.
In the mean time WhatsApp did celebrated its 7th year of service providing through the internet.
They recently released the much awaited video calling feature in the WhatsApp which you had installed in your device.
